Netflix Casts Ideal Actor for Bentham in One Piece Third Season
Baroque Works is geared up to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t take place until season 3, and a adored, popular member has just been cast.
The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the skilled actor has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will embody Bentham. This character can use their power to change into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that figure reinterpreted as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag queen, in the live-action series, unlike the original manga and anime.
Escola joins multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing the organization to reality, featuring leader Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Though this character is a important part of the organization, the individual won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could suggest further changes to the narrative framework.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the role. Along with their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
Netflix's live-action One Piece program is due to premiere for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
