Arsenal's goalkeeper Praises Team's Strength as Key to Multiple Trophy Challenge

David Raya has declared that fierce rivalry for first-team spots is fueling Arsenal's impressive performance, with the keeper confident that the team's roster under Mikel Arteta is so incredible that they can challenge for several trophies throughout the campaign.

Stunning Wins Highlight Arsenal's Prowess

The North London club's recent 4-0 triumph over Atlético Madrid represented their sixth straight victory and tenth triumph in 12 matches. With only three goals conceded—the fewest at this point in the club's history—they have secured a one-point lead at the Premier League summit and a perfect record in the European competition after three outings.

Rotation and Depth Crucial to Achievements

The goalkeeper has started in almost all matches, except for one Carabao Cup encounter, but the manager has consistently rotated the lineup following heavy spending on recruits. When asked about competing for multiple trophies, Raya said, "Yes, I think so. Our squad strength is amazing. We have numerous options who can perform in two, three, or four positions."

Like in the Atlético match, Mikel Merino came on as a striker and can also play as a No 8 or No 10. Such flexibility is available to the manager, and it's being utilized to benefit the team. Things appear very, very good, and that depth is crucial for us.

Competition Elevates Performance

Raya added, "That gives you an additional edge in training and matches because if you slack off, you can lose instantly. It creates intense rivalry in sessions and during matches, which is vitally significant, and the whole squad accepts it."

Strong Defense a Collective Effort

The team have conceded only one goal from open play this season, and Raya has faced only one shot on target in their last three wins against three opponents.

"It's a collective effort from the forwards to the goalie," Raya explained. "Each player is committed, determined not to give anything away, and the goal is to cut out passes before it reaches the halfway line. If we intercept, we can launch a fast break. This is essential for the entire team to understand this mentality, and opponents aren't creating numerous opportunities, which is ideal."
