Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been released.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
